For a cutscene in a game ive got going at the moment I have a character that has a closeup. the background is most of him and I have his face as a character. trouble is he doesnt animate when a dialog is started up even though he has views assigned for it.
The only reason I can think of is his size. He is quite big. Should that be a problem?
???
Size is not the problem.Are you saying that you use a different character for the closeup? Does that character have a talkign view set, and does your dialog script use the closeup character to say the dialog?
You need to set a view just for your talking animation - the down view is ok to use as that loop. Set a new view, call it talk (or name of char and talk - eg Jonntalk) and go to the character's view and in that, see talk view - click that and set the view that you made for talking and the first frame image in that talking loop should come up in the character's pane. That should work in the game.

Nuff said. :=
I have one character for the closeup. Its the intro. Hes the same size standard and talking. There is allready a animation for the talking. And yes it is selcted as the talking animation but for some reason its not working.
I cant work out why.
EDIT:
Ok feeling pretty stupid.
I worked it out. I was using an old dialog of another charater for it to test it out.
::)
Whoops.
Edit by Ashen: Don't double post.
I did that too first time lol :) AGS is a learning experience and a thrill to learn one new thing each time in AGS I must say. Good luck with the rest of the AGS practicing and making the game. I look fwd to hearing more on your game's development :)
Thanks Man.
Im making progress which is great.
Hopefully I might even be able to upload a demo sometime in the new future. :=
