Title: Cinematic cutscenes
Post by: MarceloCSC on Thu 29/10/2009 19:48:06
Hey you guys!
I have a question, and I'm really sorry if it has been answered before!

I want to use cinematic cutscenes in my game, and what I mean by that are cutscenes that don't use rooms or characters in game, so they don't really depend on any scripting. I've read somewhere that perhaps mpeg can be used, but I'm not sure how to trigger it. Anyway, which would be the best option, quality-wise? I'm thinking about making animations using high quality photos, or something like that, or even shooting something with a real camera.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If your gonna use photo's, I'm assuming your camera can take video's as well. Or I would use Windows Movie maker (Free with Windows XP) and compile a movie of them. Then I would play the movie in AGS. Less confusing, less resources in AGS. Might save on speed as well and on scripting.

I would use PlayVideo() found here: http://www.americangirlscouts.org/agswiki/Multimedia_functions#PlayVideo
