Compiled Games Problem

Hi:

If I run a compiled game either with the Test button or directly double clicking the executable, the game opens but stays in a black screen, and the title bar is red, instead of the normal Win XP blue. And also the mouse dissappears. The only way to exit, is pushing the Windows key on my keyboard and the Ctrl+Alt+Del to finish the application. I tried different times, but is always the same.

By the way, I am working on Windows XP with the AGS 2.56 Spanish version.

Please help me...

Hm.... I have a similar problem... the First time I compile it after  I start up the computer, it crashes like that, but the second time it works fine. I also run XP and AGSv2.56

Try testing it in window mode (or full screen, if you already have it in window mode) by clicking FILE  -- >  SETUP  --- > Run in window mode

Not sure what this is in Spanish. :)

It's odd that it happens with the executable too, though. Are you sure your character is starting in a room that exists?

Ishmael

The game reports error if the room isn't there, and during compile, AGS prompts for contunue if the starting room does not exist. The redness might have something to do with the color depth change, since AGS games run in 16 bit color. Have you tried compability (sp?) mode?
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

I already tried the Windows and the Full Screen change but it remains the same. I also have a character in an existing room and also tried the compatibility mode. When I try this, the red color appears again, although the windows bar changes to Win 98 or 95 or the one I selected. The mouse still hangs.

I installed the AGS 2.56 and run it without rebooting, maybe I'll try that and tell you what happened, but I don't think that's the problem, because the program came in a zip file and runs without an installer.

I downloaded the English version of AGS 2.56 and the problem is still there, but when I force the game to run in a window, it takes a while to load the first room, but finally it loads.

But there is another problem now, when I see the first room, the mouse pointer in the outside of the window is there, but when I enter my game window, the mouse dissapears (obviously it has to) but the game pointer is not moving, like it is not recognizing the mouse.

PLEASE HELP ME !!!
