Is there any way whatsoever to COMPLETELY remove a plugin that's been installed?

I've installed a plugin which has just not reacted well with my game and I'm 100% sure that it's the cause of the problem. Is there anyway that I can remove all traces of it? Unchecking 'Use this plugin' is no good for me as it is still visible, albeit greyed out. I need it completely gone. Is this possible? I've removed the .dll from the folder.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Khris

First of all, unchecking it should remove any connection to the game.
To remove it from the tree, after removing it from the main folder, restart AGS and it should be gone.

That's the problem, it's not going. It's still there, greyed-out.

Close AGS.

Double check in the AGS folder that the Plugin (dll) is not there.

When you are sure that it is not there restart AGS and the plugin should be gone as Khris said. If it is still in the AGS tree then AGS must be registering it somehow.

If it still appears then you should tell us which plugin it is so someone may be able to assist you further.

It's not over until the fat lady sings..

Yeah I've done all of this but it's still there. It's the snow/rain plugin, I'll ask the author. Cheers guys.

I tried removing agsjoy.dll and ags_snowrain.dll.
Both of them weren't listed under the plugin node after closing AGSEdit, moving them outside the main folder and restarting AGSEdit.

Double-check the contents of the folder.

I don't know that it can/does, but the editor might be copying the plugin from the Compiled folder into the editor directory if it finds it. Make sure to check the folder you have the AGS editor installed in, your project folder, your project's Debug folder, and your project's Compiled folder. Make sure to remove the plugin from all of those. Then start the editor directly, and load your game. You should get an error that the plugin could not be found, and if you save that references to it will be removed. Click okay, and compile. If you're still having issues then we're going to need to request some screenshots or uploads for further review because as long as you follow the above steps exactly then the plugin should be removed.
