No problem at all, and you're right; this particular thread is a bit of a special case though. The OP never got back to it properly and regularly pulls of some quite questionable verbal stunts which lead to much OT stuff here.

Not everybody marks their threads as solved, it is encouraged but not enforced. Usually, the OP will dig up their own thread if the problem persists, so even if an older thread appears to be unresolved at first glance, it usually isn't.
