Problem with saving

Hey, I have started using AGS recently but i have a major problem; my work won't save. I saved everything multiple times including the room I was working on and the whole file, but when I open it up again it doesn't exist any more.
I saved when I had done a bit of work and then opened the file again and it was all there, but the second time I did this all of my work was gone.
If someone could help I would be very grateful, thanks!

Can you tell us the basics please?

AGS Version
And if you're using save game or quicksave and how do you open your game. Are you opening by opening adventure game studio then selecting load game.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Make sure you save rooms as "roomX.crm" when asked.

Good job on pointing that out. It might just be that.
