why does game.exe get stuck when exiting.
I then have to shut the process through the task manager. (winXP)

Is there somthing I need to put in my code before exiting?
BTW Allso Alt+X makes game.exe get stuck.

What version of AGS are you using? Are you using the test game function of the editor?

If you're using the most recent V2.7, this test game problem should be fixed.
If you're using V2.62 or earlier, it's well-known that the test function won't always work on some of the computers. This is not a big problem, if such problems happened to you, all you need to do is not to use the test game function. You can always test your compiled game by clicking the executable created in the compiled folder directly.

look for the sticky thread in the technical forum
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

However, since V2.7 was a major update, where LOTS of stuff had been changed, I don't recommend updating your game to V2.7 just to fix the testing problem (since you need to learn the new scripting style and probably need to fix up your codes for them to work after update), like I mentioned, you can always launch the game directly from the compiled folder to test it, that the test function not working in the editor is no big deal.

Of course, if you had just started making your game it's a different story.

Thanks for warning me about switching to 2.7 becuase my game is 99% done!

Tuntis: I don't understand your question?

Scummbudy: I still didn't find where to d/l ver 2.7...

And another question...
Where can I see what was updated?
I want to know if the autonumber tool was updated?
(I'm having problems with the autonumber tool in ver 2.62)

* Auto-number speech lines now does DisplayAt and DisplayThought.
* Added an option to Auto-number Speech Lines to number Display() lines for the narrator.
* Auto-number speech lines now tells you which room the error was in, if there is a compile error when re-compiling.
