How do you start a new game

Open the editor, select the New Game blob, click next, select template and type in a name for the game folder (and executable), click next, start creating.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

To start a new game you have to restart the editor, you can't do it from the menus. (See tracker entry)
