background sound

hey there i have some problems with my background sound.
My soundfile id a midi-file. When I test the game through AGS I can hear the sound clearly but when I compile it and run the .exe file I can hear nothing.
Does anybody have a solution for me?

have you tried selecting another midi option in the setup program?
