so here is the deal, i want to make 2 bridges and i want the character to be able to walk over and under them. there are 3 stories so the bottom level he should b able to walk underneath both, the middle layer he needs to walk over one and under the other and the top layer he needs to walk over one and neither walk over or under the other bridge. anyone know how i can use the different walkable areas to make this work?
(The game is a 2d overhead view format like the old zelda games)
Thanks

I would make it the same way as I would with one bridge. I would make the bridges as objects and alter their baseline.
Here is a illustration where there are two bridges (white and grey). You can walk in the river below or on both bridges so you just set walkable areas where you want to walk. Then there are three regions (green, red and yellow, note that regions do not extend over/under the bridges). When you enter the green region you set the baseline of both bridges so that they are always drawn on top. When you enter yellow region you set the baseline of white bridge so it is drawn on top and the baseline of grey bridge so the player will be drawn over it. And finally when you enter red region you set both baselines so player is drawn on top of them.
