Primordia - Internal error when in 'junk' area (says to post here)

Hello,
I just downloaded Primordia for my husband. After playing a while, he went to the junk room area and the game quit, giving this error message:

An internal Error has occurred. Please note down the following information.
If the problem persists, post the details on the AGS Technical Forum. (ACI version 3.21.1115)
Error: Unable to render character 0 () because loop one does not exist in view 96

He went back into the game and was playing again. He got a little further the second time (put the spark plug into the generator) when the game quit again with the following error:

We downloaded the game from GOG.com tonight.
Playing on a 2 yr old HP laptop - 64 bit Win 7
6GB ram. Installed with antivirus off.

Came here to find out if there is a fix or if we should return the game. Please let me know what additional info you might need to help. And thanks very much in advance.
