I know... I'm lame.... but this is really bugging me..

regarless what image dimentions i set it (320x200, 320x240, 640x400, 640x480, or 800x600) at even when i click the convert game to high color button on the pallet screen, it always comes out in either inverted colors like a negative effect in photoshop, or a solid base color like everything's pink... maybe i'm not doing something right.... or maybe its the colors.... i dont know here why dont i just show you the room:

now that's NOT resized.  That's the original drawing i drew in MSpaint.  I have resized that image to all of the sizes that was given.... I just cant figure out what i'm doing wrong....  and i have to get the room picture up before i can start to learn how to do some basic scripting... Maybe i'm using too many differnt colors.....

I would guess that that image is 24- or 32-bit, whereas hi colour in ags is only 16-bit. The latest version of ags supports 32 bit, I think, or you could get a proper paint program that allows you to save in 16 bit.

what i do is i moved it over from MSpaint to  Photoshop7 to resize and i click on 16bit when i save it and it still does that.

Save it as 24bit in msPaint, then try to import, how does turn out? Also, convert the game to hicolor before importing.

ok, it's in i saved it as a 24bit as Scorpiorus said, then i resized it in photoshop and saved that as 24 aswell.  when i saved it as 16 it came up a solid pink again so then i went back and did it as 24 and its in there

thanks.  Come to think about it this was sorta a silly question to ask... o well, thank you guys.
