Hi. Sorry if this is not the right forum, I am having a hard time categorizing this question. I searched the forum but found nothing.
I don't know how to put this delicately so here goes: I do not like the blue color of the mug AGS desktop icon. Sorry to those who like the traditional blue color. Please don't kill me. Is there anywhere to change it to different color and shade? I know I can change the one on my desktop, but I would like to change the one at the top left corner when I am doing things in the editor. Could someone be so kind to change it to something more green and totally not blue for me? Please send me the finished acwin.exe file(without mp3 support). Or someone could tell me how to do it myself that would be great? I like green color. I hope Crimson Wizard gave people some choice of the color for the mug but that is probably too much to ask. Thanks in advance.
EDIT 8 OCT: Hi. I listened to Khris and got the reshack program, changed the icon to a green color. And the weirdest thing happened. The icon of the program has changed but the icon in the editor is still blue? 8-0 Why is that? Crimson, do you have any idea?

Don't know about newer versions, but AFAIK you cannot change the icon in the windows bar, at least not directly.
Apart from rebuilding your own engine from source, you may also try to hack it using say, Resource Hacker, which I have no idea on whether this works (Resource Hacker is quite old, and occasionally it could corrupt the files edited by it).
Thank you Gilbert for the swift reply. I thought of compiling the exe too using a new icon i made(changed the mug color) but that is above my skill level.
EDIT:OK. Guess I have to do it myself. How to compile the acwin.exe from scratch? Anyone please point me to the right direction it would be great?

Does it really matter what colour the mug is in the editor? :confused:
At first I thought you just wanted to change the icon of your game, which requires you to put in an icon file named user.ico into the project folder of your game, and then all you have to do is compile the game.
But you want to change the icon of the editor? :confused:
It's just an icon!
The effort required to change it, far exceeds any amount of enjoyment you might get for customising something to your personal preference!
Don't do it man. It's really not worth it!

If you want to change icon
in the Editor you need to compile AGSEditor.exe, not acwin.exe. Acwin.exe is an engine.

PS. But I'd really rather try finding some utility that can change resources in the compiled .NET program first.
@Crimson Wizard: Thanks for reply! God if it isn't the Crimson Wiazrd himself! What an honor! Thanks for pointing out my mistake. Yes it is better to try changing the icon in an exe file using some sort of hacking program. If anyone knows about any such program and wants to tell me it would be great. If not I will try my best to compile this thing myself(really hope it would not come to that).
This is probably the most amazing and unique issue I have ever seen crop up on this board.

Yeah, the AGS community is a still pretty unique and, sadly, rapidly vanishing kind of corner of the internet where newcomers don't have to feel threatened to speak their piece, nor feel they have something to prove...

I tried changing the icon using ResHack (the newest version is from Nov 2016) but the editor crashed right after displaying the splash screen.
Looks like compiling it yourself is the only way for now.

ok. I will try to be un-threatened as best as I can. I am not easily offended(at least I like to think that). This forum has a lot of great guys that did some really great things using AGS, I don't want to say something inappropriate of disrespectful by accident. I just hope I could maybe do a simple game that play like the demo. I have low expectations with my skills.
