Title: Hotspots & text displaying
Post by: on Sat 16/09/2006 21:25:11
I want to learn two things, I hope someone can help me. I tried to find topics relating to this without no result (atleast for my brains) :(

1. When mouse moves over hotspots, it displays their names which will also dissapear when mouse moves away from hotspots.
2. The name of the hotspot it's displayed at specific coordinates

Example: I move mouse over a book and I get text to a down corner that says "A book", and when I move mouse away from it, the text dissapears.

I have downloaded "OverHot"-module, but it only displays text depeding where the cursor is, and I'm not too skilled to modify it.

I can't believe you didn't find anything for this ... it gets asked so much (which is why there's about a half dozen modules dealing with it).

Just t clarify, though, what exactly do you want? (Sorry, I as a little confused by your post.) To display the name of the hotspot currently under the cursor at a fixed location on the screen? If so: read the manual (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/manual/Interface%20text.htm). Make a GUI, make a Label on that GUI and set the text to @OVERHOTSPOT@.

If it was something more complicated - go back and try the forum search again, and if you still can't find anything, ask back, giving more details about what you want.

Thanks Ashen, that was precisely what I was looking for!
