Title: How do i arrange the text file for translation?
Post by: on Tue 19/12/2006 06:46:16
Hi,

I have decided to make a Turkish translation for the game 5 Days a Stranger, and for this, I contacted Yahtzee, he sent me the translate.txt file and I have written the Turkish meanings of all lines underneath the English version.

I sent it to Yahtzee (maker of the game), but at least %50 of the text was missing (i.e. not translated to Turkish) while playing the game. Yahtzee advised me to remove the spaces between the lines, but when i did so and re-sent the *.txt file, Yahtzee reported that the script was giving the error message "the number of un-commented lines is not even".

To make things clear, my first text file arrangement was:

(english text)
(turkish text)

(english text)
(turkish text)

This arrangment ended up with about 50% efficiency. And the second:

(english text)
(turkish text)
(english text)
(turkish text)

This didn't work at all and gave the abovementioned error phrase. So what should i do? Yahtzee couldn't help me out with this.

Thx beforehand.

Don't remove the spaces, if you didn't translate a line, just leave that empty line intact, otherwise it will mess up the file.

All lines were translated.

How many lines were there (1) in the file yahtzee sent you? (2) your first file (3) your second file?

The numbers have to match (1) for it to work...

Also, if you used any ü, ç characters, etc. then they probably won't display unless Yahtzee sets up a special font, or used a Truetype font in his game.
