How important are #sectionstart / #sectionend?

I noticed that the Empty Game template in AGS 3.1.2 SP1 are pretty inconsistent- some sections have #sectionend only, some have #sectionstart and #sectionend... and the Default Game template doesn't use them at all.

So- are they important? CAN these lines be deleted, even though the state they shouldn't?

They are from the 2.72- editor. The 3.0+ editor no longer requires these tags. They were there to provide the same functionality that the function list drop-down box now provides but for built-in menus. So despite the warnings, they're safe to delete.
