How to change sprite size?

Hi, people.
Here's my problem: I draw an image in Microsoft Paint. I import it as a sprite. But when I try putting it in the game it is waaaay too big. I tried to make it smaller in Paint, but that doesn't help. Why is this happening? How to change sprite size so, it would be as big, as needed? Please help me.

What resoluton is your game? If it's high res (640x4*0 or 800x600) the BFAQ Entry Fixing Oversized images might help.
