Create a GUI with a label on it that says "@overhotspot@". Not that this was in the manual, too.

It's also in the BFAQ (http://americangirlscouts.org/agswiki/GUI%2C_Inventory_%26_Menu#Adding_score.2Fhotspot_info_to_the_big_grey_status_bar), and I'm sure it's been mentioned on the forums many times.
