I have hotspot 1 working and I click on the look option and it displays my message, Then when I try to do the same on hotspot 2 it doesn't do anything. I have set the walk-to point and saved the settings.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
What interactions do you have setup for the second hotspot?
When you post a question, please try to give as much detail as you can about what you've already tried.
Ok sorry
I have set up that when you click on it with the look action, that the character will walk to it and then it will display a message. It is just the same as hotspot 1. I have tried using hotspot 3 as well and that didn't work
Have you definately drawn hotspot area for 2 and 3? (Obvious, but worth checking.)
Are you sure you've put it in the right mode interaction, and that the mouse is in 'Look' mode?
If so, nad it still isn't working, post exactly what interactions you've got, for the working hotspot and one of the not-working ones.
For hotspot 1
Under "look at hotspot" in the interactions button I have Game - Display a message (0)
For hotspot 2
Under "look at hotspot" in the unteractions button I have Dame - Display a message (1)
I have also set walk to marker for both of these witin the walkable areas
But a hotspot is not a walkable area.
Make sure you had drawn the two hotspots in two colours, not a walkable area.
Sorry, I may have worded that a bit wrong.
The room my character is in has a door and a window. You can see 2 walls and the door is on one and the window is on the other. The window is higher up than the door it (like any room ina house)
Hotspot 1 is the door and that works fine. I click on it with the eye option, he walks to the walk to point and the message comes up.
Hotspot 2 does nothing. It is set in green so I know it is a hotspot and not a walkable area. I can't think what I have done wrong!
Though it might be quite rare and dumb, are you sure that green colour was of hotspot 2 and not hotspot 10?
If you're sure it's filled with hotspot 2's colour, I'm afraid we can't help much with the info. you had given, unless you can upload the room file in question (just the room file is fine) and let us examine it to see what's wrong.
Isn't every Nr. 2 of the four area types colored green?
Select Hotspots from the drop-down box, then select Nr. 2 with the arrow buttons and make sure the grey area covering the window is now green. Then open the Interaction Editor to make sure this is where you've put the Display message command.
Yes, but #10 is also green. just in case...
Hi guys, It seems to have sorted itself out now. Thanks anyway
Damn, I wish my problems would all sort out themselves ;)
Would you mind posting the solution to your problem?
Well, all i did was just completly start again. I loaded up a different room and it worked jsut fine. I put 5 hotspots in there and they all work. I don't know what I did differently because I followed the guide word for word.
sorry
