Hello, I'm a member of the french community of AGS, so excuse me for my bad english ;D
I have tried to search a topic dealing about the .swf format, i don't know if this threat has been already posted, and so excuse me if it was the case.
So, my question is that i just want to play a video with PlayVideo() function with a .swf format, and in the doc i found this sentence :

Quote from: AGS docThe second type of files that AGS can play is anything supported by Windows Media Player.

I have tried to test if my .swf work with WMP, and it was good ! But when i have tested this with AGS, the screen was black and turned in the void. I put the .swf file into the Compiled folder.
But, i'm not sure if it's due to the lastest version of WMP which can now play this format but no the AGS video player. Maybe AGS use WMP to play video during the game ?

Thank you for the help that you will give to me :) !
And sorry again for this bad language :-X .

NOTE : if you know how to convert .swf files to wav, ogg, mpg, avi, etc... without much quality loss, I can take this way.

Windows Media Player does not support SWF files by default, so if it's playing it then you have a plugin handling that.

As for converting SWF to other formats, you can find free converters all over the Google..I mean Internet. A lot of Flash deals with vector-based graphics though (I believe) so that it scales better which means that any rasterization will inherently produce a decrease in quality. However, if you convert it to a high enough video resolution it shouldn't be a problem.
