Hey guys,
In advance: apologies if this has been asked countless time. I've tried searching the Wiki and the various manuals, but to no avail. It might be that the term 'camera' is not the right one for AGS, so feel free to set me straight! (Oh also the AGS forum search is down for me. I clicked through the first couple of pages anyway, but I wasn't sure if this was beginner or advanced and agh, I'm rambling).

Ok, so I have a long scrolling background, two characters, and a conversation going on between them. The Player character loads, the 'camera' is centred on the Player, and the other character is slightly off-screen. The conversation still takes place of course, as AGS just moves the text on-screen, but I want the 'camera' itself to just move a bit off-centre from the Player character in order to see them both.

Now normally I'd just move the Player closer, but in this instance they have to load and stay where they are, which is just far enough across as to scroll the background a bit. Same goes for the other character, unfortunately.

So yeah, basically I need to move the camera a little off-centre from the Player, and then move it back when the conversation has ended.

Thanks!

Press F1 in the editor and check out scrolling and SetViewPort....you should find your answer there

I thought it might be the terminology I was using, thanks for that! Problem solved.
