Increasing the speed of you hero

I've just finished the beginners tutorial, and read through it's follow-up in the help menu.  I was wondering, (since I didn't read it in the tutorials) how to change or set the speed of the hero.  Because right now, he's going awfully slow.

this should work. Go under characters, and there should be a small box that says movement speed. Change the number. I can't remember if high numbers are faster speed or lower numbers. But give it a try. I have had AGS for awhile, still learning myself before i do anything with it.

okay just checked, higher values = faster walking speed.
