Title: Info needed on running an AGS game in Mac osx
Post by: alkis21 on Sat 06/09/2008 09:41:04
A customer is trying to run Diamonds in the Rough on a Windows XP emulator in Mac osx. He says the tracking is way off and he can't click or even position the cursor. He tried the mouse settings in both winxp and osx. Has anyone tried this with an AGS game?

What windows XP emulator is he using? It sounds to me like this would more likely be a problem with that, but I can download it if it's free and see if I can do anything about it.

I asked him, I'll let you know when he replies. Cheers.

Here is the answer:

"I am using VMware Fusion with XP SP3. In fullscreen it works a little better but it is like there are only select "squares" of area that the cursor will move to. Thus not allowing me to fully explore the areas."

I've just downloaded your demo and tried it. Doesn't work at all in fullscreen, but runs fine in a window (800x600 and smooth scaled sprites).

I'm on Mac OS 10.5 and VMWare 1.1.2. I've already played Ben Jordan before - as long as it's not fullscreen, I usually can play AGS games.
