Title: Just beginin AGS, need to understand Room Size! (Solved)
Post by: Grafikmagik on Sat 01/12/2007 19:01:35
Hi,
I know thier is a simple explanation, so I'm counting on you all.  I'm just creating a game for the first time.  I draw my artwork at 640 x 480 and import the image into my room.   When I test the game only a section of my room shows up on screen.  Is this because the window we view the game through is always 320 x 200, or am I not understanding something.

Yep, if the game is set to 320x200 it may look like that.

Try selecting a base resolution that fits your background:

Main menu :: Game :: Change game resolution...

Choose 640x480 there.

By the way, the very same dialog also appears when you create a new game.

Hey Thanks!
I did what you said, and still had the same problem, realizing it should have worked I checked my image size again in Photoshop and I had resampled it at alot higher rez for drawing.  Needless to say I never changed the rez back down when I finished the artwork.  I guess I would have eventually have caught the problem, but I needed to get registered as a member anyway.
