hello!

i was very hesitant at doing this myself, so i opened up MS-Paint and made my character by referencing the movements of the default character packaged with AGS. (Roger)

It soon became old hat. :P

Theres some free graphical programs out there such as Gimp which is abit like Photoshop and also Open Office Draw, I've not used that but it looks a little like MS paint but with better features. They're all worth checking out :)

Hope that helps.

There's also the free version of GraphicsGale, ideal for pixelling and supports onion skinning.

Just make sure to inform yourself about available resolutions and resulting character and room sizes. Just browse the critics lounge and check the dimensions of the images there (i.e. don't start a character in photoshop without any height reference).

On the same topic, but not completely (I didn't dare creating a new thread) :

Is there a place to download animated characters resources? There's a page for that on the site but it seems not to have been updated since 2006, and the contents are eventualy quite poor considering the thousands of characters that have been created since AGS exists.

The Critics forum often shows only part of the characters, so it's not the best place to browse for that.

Did I miss something?

I didn't see the sticky thread in the Critics forum  :-\
Sorry for interfering./

You realize that you're typing your messages within the Quote fields and I can't make heads or tails what is a quote and what is a response.  Are you confused and you're just trying to figure out what the heck you're doing wrong?

When you press "Reply with quote" that adds the quote to the message box, like so:
This is a quote from someone
This is where you type your message -- Not inside the quote fields.

There is an EDIT button if you needed to correct a message, and try not to double post unless the thread needs to be bumped.  Also you can preview your message to see if it's going to come out right before posting; which you should be using.

I'm not trying to be a moderator, but I'm very confused with whats going on with your replies and it's been 4 in a row now.
