Occasional slowdowns at high resolution

Hi guys,

I have been noticing that the game tends to glitch for a half second to about two seconds at times when entering a new area or playing a big animation.  The game I'm making is at fairly hi res 1366x768, so I guess this might be  expected.  I'm wondering if there's a way to minimize this sort of bug by doing some pre-loading, or somehow getting the graphics to load before the scene actually plays, so there is less stuttering.
