Editing hotspot

I want to make a hotspot that is behind a chair. Only half of it should show. How can I made it so, that only half of it shows?

from AGS, select:
Room Editor.  Areas.  "Show this Room's:  --> HotSpots". 
Select a drawing mode (Probably Freehand button from what you want to do). Trace over the area you like to make the HotSpot. Fill-In the HotSpot area (if you need to that is.. with the fill-in Button / tool). 
If you make a mistake, you can always click the "Un-Do" button.
There ya have it.
