using (Build 3.4.0.11)
Whilst Audio reduce volume properties is set to 0, whenever a player Speaks or Sound plays the Music reduces volume and does not even return to set volume...
Possible causes/solution?

Even when any sound plays? Are you sure your music has separate type from sounds, and they are played on different channels?

the Background Music is in the Music Folder and the Sounds in the sound folder..
It particular it seems to happen when any sound fx plays.. like turning a tap or punching.
I even have a sound play in a frame of when a player animates that view and it still happens.
Music volume drops about 30%....and does not even return to level..
I only have one sound happen at any one time.
It now appears to be OK as far as speech is concerned and only does this when playing a sound.
The Audio properties are set correctly.. All set to volume reduce by 0.
For reference they are all .ogg
I have still not found a solution to this music/sound issue..........
Slasher, I honestly cannot think of anything. Can you send me your project?

I tried to follow your instructions in PM, but the music volume does not lower after sound plays... I even tried with exact AGS build 3.4.0.11.
What do you have set for "Digital sound" option in setup program?

It's set Default DirectSound Device
other settings also make the audio crackle..

Maybe you could give a game file that you yourself compiled to other people and see if they experience same bug? Because I do not have it when I compile your game, and I cannot think of anything that could cause it.

Hm, this reminds me of a similar problem I once had. However, I was not able to reproduce it and was able to work around it later.

Looking in the old thread, it seems you had the same problem before as well...
I Made a new game, default template, DD, 640 x 400, added 1 music piece and 1 sound piece.. result...THE SAME...Music lowered..
No audio properties settings were touched..
Afterthought.. I previously imported another game from build 10 to build 12 and that works ok.,,

I can confirm, by importing a previously made game with 12 that something somewhere is very wrong as the result is the same...
