I have read the manual and havn't found anything about this, so I can only asume I'm doing some really stupid mistake not even worth mentioning in the manual. I tried using paint.NET and making a backgrund, saving it in 8-bit png (I have also tried 8-bit bmp). When I try import it in AGS I get an error telling me that the background is in high colour. If I change the game to 16-bit I can import the background but when I choose walkable areas I only see a blue screen instead of the image. I also tried to import Reality-on-the-Norm backgrounds, both 8-bit and high colour and I get the sme blue screen.

So please tell me to RTFM (again) or help me out here.

EDIT:I'm using AGS 3.0 btw

Since people often forgot to draw a walkable area before testing their game, the default game has the whole screen set up as walkable area 1.
To remove it, select walkable area 0 and click anywhere on the blue screen using the fill tool.
