Ok, ive made my first character - 'Sarah.' I've made her walk cycle etc and ticked the 'This is player character' box. However when i go to test my game 'Sarah' is there standing in room 1 and wont move, but 'Roger' the AGS character is still the character being played, and it's him that walks around the game making Sarah useless! Do i have to delete Roger, if so how ? Or what else have i done wrong ?!

EDIT: Ok, i now have Sarah walking around, but there is another Sarah standing in the hall and a Roger standing in the hall! Also the Sarah that does walk around wont move in the first room, only the other rooms ?

Doctor Oakroot

You probably have Roger and another Sarah set to start in room 1. Set their start rooms to a room you're not using. (I had this problem the first time I tried to create a character.)

Have you checked your walkable areas in room 1 to make sure Sarah is on a walkable area?

Thanks ive sorted that problem (I hadn't turned Roger to room '0' so he wasn't in the game.)
I have another problem through. I want to animate a character ex woman washing the floor.
I've created a loop for her (just the one of her pushing her mop back and fourth) but when i come to test the game, she's in the room i want her in fine, but she isn't moving ? Any ideas what im not doing ?

Make her and idle view, and use SetIdleView (check manual, the syntax may also be wrong, ages since I've needed that command) in the game_start function in the global script to set the character to run it repeadetly.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Ok call me stupid but youvel lost me.....
Ive set the idle view....but what the syntax ? (Nothing came up manual when searched) and i dont understand the global script bit either ?

EDIT: Don't worry ive done it. I went to room interactions and then set up set idle animation. I think that was what you were trying to explain, thanks.

Okay, most of what you were asking could easily be found by reading the manual from the beginning. Most people think of the manual as just a help file that should be searched only when you have questions. That's not true. This goes for everybody. Read the manual from the beginning when you first try to use AGS. It will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
