Hello!
I finished my first adventure game, which i started as a training. Now i can't find out the way to create/find/compress an .exe file that contains the entire game without being hid in a sub-folder inside a sub-foder inside a sub-folder inside the ags folder. Also, i noticed that everytime i move the game.exe file out of the "compiled" folder, the game runs with awful graphics.
Is there a way i can make the game run in a more professional way? like just double-clicking on an icon located outside the software folders, so i can burn a cd containing this icon AND the rest of the files which i intend to make invisible?
am i making myself clear? my english is very limited. I'm trying to make my game "user friendly" so i can share it freely with my friends. It would be nice if one can gain access to it without going through the other files that make the game look like it was the first attempt of a bored dude. Which is true. I want to make it look pro anyway. Ok, sorry about the lenght.

Thank you very much!

Everything you need to distribute your game is in the compiled folder. You shouldn't put anything there manually, AGS puts everything you need in there by itself (except movie files).

Basically he should just read this.  It's in the manual.  If he has questions about what that says...then that's a different story.

Hello,  I also need help with burning the file to a CD so that I can distribute among friends and turn it in as a class project.  The program will need to be able to run on a different computer than the one I designed the game on.  Any suggestions on how and what I need to burn to a CD?

You need: a compoota, a cd-writer and a blank cd. (You probably knew that.)

Clicking on the link in the post above yours would have to taken you to a site containing these words at the very beginning:
QuoteWhen you choose the "Save game" option in the Editor, a "Compiled" sub-directory is created in your game's folder, with all the files that you need to distribute your game.

Where exactly is the problem?

I think mr.kite wants everything in one big .exe which runs (and doesn't install) the game.
apt88 probably has problems with OSes or something. Maybe it's not how you burn the cd, apt88, but something else.

mr.kite hasn't posted since the 4th, so I guess his issue is resolved.

apt88: If you don't know how to burn a CD, that's the wrong forum to ask in. It's a pretty basic process, though, usually involving 3rd party burning software. WinXP has built-in basic burning functions: as soon as you insert a blank CD, a window should pop up, allowing you to select something like "open cd's folder to burn stuff to it". Then you've got to simply drag'n'drop the files in the Compiled folder to the cd's window and click on burn in the menu to the left.

Please be more specific at what you can't figure out to do.
