Title: Resizing BGs To Characters Size
Post by: =The=Brat= on Tue 24/05/2005 10:12:45
Hi,

I have a problem with my character.

I drew Hang(my main character) at 206x356 but i had allready drawn my Bgs at about 540x390 so when i test my game the character is tremendusly huge. The reason i drew my characters so big is so i could put in the detail. is there any way around this problem without resizing all my pics?

Use area scaling to scale down the character, and he can use the details if it's in a close-up scene.
If your character is at 100% size most of the time, it will be tremendously huge (even if it's imported for hi-res) and can even affect gameplay in general, so in my opinion it's a better solution to scale down the characters to fit the scenes other than having a giant Hulk moving on screen.

What you have will actually be great if you use sierra style speech where you have a portrait of your character when in dialog.... I also did some-simular to this in my game and it worked great.

In your room when you set walkable area....you will see a % box (normally this is set at 100%) Just change this to say 50% and your charecter will be half it's original size.
