CANT USE MY CHARATER SPRITES!!!

i am really new to AGS but i have messed with many different programs before so i thought hay why not and i tried to make a sprite and i saved it but, when i went to veiws to add it, it always comes up as the first Default sprite or whatever sprite 0 is can someone please help my noobish problem thanks.

Just double click on the bluecups to change the sprite.
