Hi there.
Sorry if I'm not supposed to post this kind of question (there sure are alot of rules to this forum).
I was just wondering if it is possible to create animated cutscenes and put thm into AGS, the best example I can think of is like the kind of thing in Broken Sword: There are parts with cartoon cutscenes like in the beggining and end of the game.
I see there are ways to do Text Overlays and small character animations but I havn't seen any evidence of properly animated scenes.
If anyone knows of a game made on AGS with this sort of thing please let me know.
Thanks.

I think this comes under 'don't ask, because it's been answered already' ;), since the BFAQ (Adding an intro or cutscene to your game) and Manual (Animations and cutscenes) pretty much cover this. Admittedly they're a little out of date (some script commands named in BFAQ, the 'Interaction Editor' mentioned in manual), but the basic process is the same - script them out using character and object animations, Display commands, speech, etc. Most AGS games feature examples of this method.

Alternatively, and maybe nearer what you want, generate them in another program, export them as compatable video files and use PlayVideo. Many AGS games use this, but I can't think of a specific example right now.
EDIT: Thought of a (bad) example just after I posted. AGS 180 Darts uses a WMV for it's intro 'cutscene'.

Lol, Okay then I'll remember that for next time.
Thank you very much, thats a great answer.
I'll have a play around and see what I can do.
Oh, and let me know if you think of any good AGS games with cutscenes, however I'll start looking myself.
Thanks again.

Most of them do, but they're mostly of the kind you'd call "in-engine cutscene" in today's commercial games - that is, no pre-rendered 800MB video, just a small non-interactive portion. There was an OROW game some time ago that relied heavily on pre-rendered stuff, though. (Seed, by LimpingFish, I think; the entries are available here)
