I would like Sierra-style close-up speech displays like the ones in the King's Quest remakes.  Everytime I use DisplaySpeech it just puts text above the character.  The help file doesn't give much information with this.  Also, if there is a sound file to play when the narrator speaks, the narrator won't have an animation.  Would that screw things up?

I'm just cmpletely lost here.  It seems like I need to make a gui for the speech window, but then how would it choose to use that gui at the appropriate times?

You don't need to make your own GUI. Just go to the main settings tab and select the "Speech style" drop-down list box and choose "Sierra Style". You can also choose QFG4 style. If you REALLY want to make your own speech GUI, there is help in the manual. :)

If you go the Sierra-route, and want to add audio speech files to go along with the text, is there a way to lip sync the picture to go with the words?  Or will it just be your pre-programmed animation going along with whatever the people are saying?  It just seems weird that if, for example, your character was saying "NOOOOOO!!!", that the face box would still be sitting there going through the syllables of "watermelon, watermelon" the whole time.

There is a LipSync subsection in the editor.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I forgot to mention in my first post, I've tried all of the options in that menu.  None of them do anything differant.

Alright, I fixed my problem.  You have to assign a character a talking view otherwise it will automatically use the LucasArts style speech.

Another question: Wy won't my talking animation loop until the display goes away?  It plays once and stops.
