Selecting player character at the start of the game

How can I do so, that when the game is starting, the player is given a chance to select his player character let's say from three candidates  .

, and the ever-popular BFAQ.

Just have a GUI, or a background image if you'd rather use hotspots, with the characters on, that calls SetPlayerCharacter (CHARID)
