Pleauberg (spelling) Dark Ages

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not for this question, but hopefully somebody can help me.

Every time I try to install this game and play it I get the following error message:

config file read error (E154):Parse Error

What does that mean and how do I fix it?

try to delete the .cfg file and rerun, and see if it still comes up.

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry but I'm just a game player and I have no idea where to find the .cfg file or how to delete it. Can you tell me please?

Hmmm is there an acsetup.cfg file in the game's folder? If there's one, try deleting it first.

If it doesn't exist, try to setup the game to create one, I don't remember if there's a setup file contained in that game, if not, try reading this to see how to run setup of the game.

Well that didn't work either but that's OK I guess. This will just be one game I can't enjoy :'(

The game doesn't really have a folder you just click on the install icon and it installs the game on your computer, but no file like the other games I've played so far. It has a setup option but there are no files to delete all you can do is choose the speed etc. (I hope I'm making sense)

Oh seems that you didn't get past the "install" process , so the game is not yet installed, right?

In that case, the install engine is a 3rd party programme other than AGS (there was no native install programme for AGS games). Hmmm did you download it from the official site or what?

No. I downloaded it from the AGS website, (there are 2 download links the first doesnt work and the other is the mirror or something like that and that's what I clicked on. But I tried it again from the officail website and it does the same thing.

The game is installed it's just that when I click on the button that says "play game" it gives that message I posted earlier.

Try running setup and save the settings before playing it for the first time, might help but I'm not sure.

The game, by default, installs to c:\GASPOP Software\Pleurghburg or something. Open My Computer, open the C drive, and open the folders so you get to the main folder where you see pleurh.exe, startup.exe and winsetup.exe (these might be without the .exe at the end, so they are items with a man's face as the icon.) and a load of other files, among which a file called acsetup.cfg. If you cannot see the acsetup.cfg file, (if you don't have file extensions visible, it's just acsetup, so check it's extension through the protopies) run the winsetup executable, choose save, and the cfg file will be created. Now try to run the pleurhg exeutable.
