While the 'point and click' interface is the latest, can anyone tell me if there are any gaming programs that allow they typing of commands like the original Sierra games? I ask this because I had great success with KQ1VGA as a teaching tool and can see the benefits of children improving their spelling while interacting in a game environment.
You can already create parser games with AGS (involves some scripting though).
Alternatively, you may create games with the various versions of AGI Studio (http://www.agidev.com/download/) which can create games identical to those old Sierra parser games (because AGI Studio is a Suite which can edit/create real AGI games).
Using parsers for ags games isn't very populair. I can only remember two games; Rode Quest (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=12) and Gladiator Quest (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=22171.0).
What about Lion's Den?
Magintz created a Text Parser Template (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=9435.0) a while back. Not sure how compatable it is with newer versions (it seems to run OK), but it's probably worth a look.
Yes I did make it a while back, and thank you Ashen for bringing it up... :/
I have no internet at home at the moment and have been looking for a project. Now I am more confident with AGS I could update it... or I could go out to the pub tonight and get completly wasted.....
Either sounds good, but if you are truley in need of help I shall attempt. Nice to see I'm mentioned ^_^
Just for you I went and got drunk on monday ;) today however I remade my template to be easier to use and compatible with AGS version 2.7 and above.
