Title: SOLVED: Moving ego immediately upon entering a room

I have a room whose entrance is at the top of a flight of stairs. When ego enters the room I would like him to automatically walk to the bottom of the stairs without any player input. I tried setting up a hot spot at the top of the stairs where ego gets placed upon entering the room but this didn't work. I suppose AGS won't activate hot spots without any player input.

There has to be an easy way to do this but I can't seem to figure it out.

Try putting your walk or animation in 'Enters room after fade in' from the Room editing options.
You may need to have it conditional on cEgo.PreviousRoom, depending on how many ways there are into the room.
