i just needed a little help with the scale of my background i'm am useing windows paint and my first one was way to big for the char.

1. Use a decent program, e.g. GIMP (takes a bit to get used to, but has many features and is freeware).

2. Learn to think in pixels. In AGS, go to the menu: Game -> Change game resolution ...
Choose one of the options there and start with a new, blank image of the same size. Paste your character on the canvas, then draw around it. (With GIMP you'd paste it on another layer so it doesn't interfere with your drawing.)

If the character doesn't fit the resolution at all, consider starting with the background. Sketch a simple room, add a door, make the character 90% of its height.

Btw, this topic will get moved soon since this is no technical question.

Khris' second suggestion is pretty much what it says in the BFAQ. If you've already made your character, you could try it the other way round (make the doors based on the character size, instead of guessing wildly). A program with layers would make that eaiser, but you should be able to do it in Paint with a bit of thought.

And no, this isn't the right forum for this question - but I'm not actually sure where is. If you've got some examples to show, try the Critics Lounge.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.
