Title: symmetrical cropping issue
Post by: Anarcho on Sat 17/11/2007 16:18:12
I've noticed something strange using Build 3.0.0.15...if you import a bunch of sprites and crop them all symmetrically together it works fine.  But if you then import a new sprite and try to crop that symmetrically with all the other pre-cropped sprites, it doesn't crop at all.

Has anyone else encountered that?

If this is a bug in 3.0, you're probably better off posting about it in the AGS 3.0 beta (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=31519.0) thread. But before you do, what exactly is the problem?

Depending on whether the new sprite is the same size as the 'pre-cropped' ones or not, I either get a popup telling me:
Quote
All sprites to be cropped must have the same dimensions. If you want to crop unrelated sprites, do them seperately.
Or:
Quote
The selected sprites could not be cropped any further.

No further cropping happens in either case - but that's the same as in older versions. AFAIK, you've never been able to crop a new sprite to match a pre-existing one, if that's what you're after (although that'd be a handy feature at times, so please correct me if I'm wrong here). If you get no warning, but still no cropping, it might be a bug. What're the relative sizes of the already-cropped and to-be-cropped sprites?

Cropping has sometimes unwanted results as well...
