a most unusual problem, when i set text to be displayed as normal text, it appears as tho the protagonist is saying it. I have tried changing the colour of the protagonists text, and the narrators text colour also changes. most unusual, would appreciate some guidance on solving this matter

Have you checked the Always display text as speech -button in the General Settings? That might be what causes this.
dammit im so stupid lol. i just dont remember ever checkin that so i didnt think to check that it had changed.
