Ã,  Ã, Help me out! Is it me lacking English skills, or just because I'm plain stupid.
Ã,  Ã, Here's the problem: I just finished drawing this very nice looking creature with mspaint. Then as I tried to import it, it turned out too big, then after some setup, too small, and the best for last: then it went all muddy and unclear, you know what I mean...

Ã,  Ã, Myself, I'm quite convinced I'm supposed to draw a picture size 20x20, but then again, what about Roger? He's merely like 20x50, (or was it the other way around). And if I was to settle with them 20x20, how am I supposed to draw a CHARACTER? You know.. one with those two eyes, WHICH I CANT FIT IN HIS HEAD!! ??? ???

Actually, it's better to not draw the eyes, but instead draw blocks of a different color on his/her/it's skin. This method is used mostly for Sierra style games (See King's Quest I and II Remakes)
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!

Hey, thans man! Quite satisfying to know I was right. But why Roger was bigger? If i may ask. Or was it because of his big EGO?

Scummbuddy

People, there is NO set specifications for how big your character sprite should be. Roger is set to those dimensions because thats how he fits with the backgrounds... do you see how he fits with the doorframe? First you draw your (concept art) backgrounds taking into account scale, and then you create your character in relation to those backgrounds. Its very simple.

If it was too big: When you are importing your sprite, did you click on the little checkbox on the import sprite window that says "import sprite for 640 480 resolution"?
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
