Title: Trojan and unable to set EXE name
Post by: morph100 on Fri 28/02/2020 15:09:11
When I try and build my EXE I get Symantec saying Trojan.Gen.MBT virus quarantined and I get AGS saying Unable to set EXE name/description: LoadLibrary failed

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks!

Yes, turn off anti-virus check for your project folders. Or deep scanning.
It's a known false positive, that some anti-virus software take your AGS games for being a virus/trojan.  :~(

OK so when I compile it, will anyone else who plays it get this false positive?

Not likely, no.

Actually, it is quite possible that some players will have the EXE erroneously blocked by their antivirus, especially Avast which for some reason seems to hate AGS. When it happened to me, what I did was go to their online scanner, submitted the file, and when it got flagged as a virus, I used the option to send it to them for review. They replied super quick and whitelisted it, but unfortunately, it seems they don't offer this service anymore :-\
