Title: Troubles Loading Game
Post by: on Wed 21/12/2005 23:40:37
Hi guys,

I decided to start a small adventure game project, and asked my talented scripter friend for help implementing some of the more complicated scripting.  I uploaded the entire source code for him.

He sent me back an updated version today.  Unzipped, I noticed he sent the following files:

ac2game.dat
acsprset.spr
Edit this.AGSgame
editor.dat
room1.crm
room2.crm
room3.crm
room4.crm
room5.crm
room6.crm
room7.crm
room8.crm
sprindex.dat
Speech Folder (with a single .ogg file in it)

When I try to load this game in AGS, it says that the game file exists, but not the sprite file.

When I just unzip these files in the old game folder, the old version of the game still plays--not the newly updated version.

Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to use these new files and see the newest version of the game?

Sorry for my lack of understanding and communicating this effectively--but I am not really certain myself what I am doing incorrectly.

Thanks for any advice.

I notice in my game folders that there is an "ac2game.ags" file.  It's a fair sized file in my game folders, so perhaps that's the file you are missing.  Ask your friend to send you back that file and perhaps it will work.

If you have the source files, ac2game.ags is not required, ac2game.ags is actually the fully compiled game.
