Hey guys. This is my first post here.
I am unable to draw walkable areas on my background. No matter which button I use -- left or right -- I get the error message that I am currently using the eraser and I should select a different property from the menu. Honestly, this has me dumbfounded. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
You have to select a diferent Walkable Area ID. You are trying to draw at the Walkable Area ID 0 which is reserved to erase walkable areas.

I must agree that this is one the things in AGS Editor that may confuse new users.
But the message does not say "select a different property", it actually say "change selection in the list above Property pane". ;) That's what Feijotikus is pointing to.
Oh, and I really hate to say this ('cause this usually sounds like RTFM), but it is all explained in the game manual. Look for Tutorial -> Starting off -> Tutorial part 2 (creating your first room).
I am using the tutorial. Unless I missed it, it's not in there.
Anyways, thanks guys! I will tinker with it right now.
It's actually not mentioned in the tutorial, and I remember someone else having the same problem.
However, when I open a room and switch to walkable areas, area 1 is active, even if I was editing area 0 in another room immediately beforehand.

Oh dear... I could swear I've seen it, but now I rechecked and it's not there. Sorry.
There's a screenshot of room editor with walkable area list box marked by red oval. But no explanation.
