Title: urgent! how to manage pallete!

Hi, im making my first game in 256 colors and ive read the manual for help. But it doenst helped me so thats why im asking u guys.



So how do you import a color in the pallete without importing an existing pallete?


Why does the maximum number of the RGB is 63? shouldnt it be 255?? now i cant just put the colors in the game!


How do you import  pcx palletes?
ive selected the pallete entries, un-checked the room depedent thing and imported the pcx file. it just happens nothing. Whats wrong with the pcx? how do i import pcx palletes?

To import a PCX as a palette, you need to select all the palette slots you want to change. Click on the first color,  hold down SHIFT, then click on the last. Then you should be able to import colors wihtout trouble.

ive done that but all the colours does not appear in the pallete! Just some of them.

My question is "why?"
Why not just use a limited palette in your paint program, and use hi-colour in the game?

Are the first 16 colors missing? I think you have to leave the first 16 or 17 spaces empty when you import a palette to leave space for the locked colors. If your paint program has the capability, the easiest colution may be to just reverse the palette.. Or try what Eric does in his tutorial:
