Title: Using AGS To View Other Games
Post by: Talysman on Thu 06/03/2008 23:14:50
Don't believe I've seen this covered (please don't crucify me if I missed it), but is it possible to use this engine to break apart older games (like Sierra games) to see how they were put together?

Great site, by the way :)

No, AGS is neither compatible with Sierra's intepreters (AGI/SCI) nor LucasArts (SCUMM). However there exists several tools to view the scripts and resources of those games. Check out LucasHacks! (http://scumm.mixnmojo.com/?page=utils), SCI Studio (http://www.bripro.com/scistudio/), and AGI Studio (http://nailhead.org/agistudio/). For more tools for Sierra  games see The Ultimate AGI & SCI Website (http://agisci.classicgaming.gamespy.com).
