Hello,

I have a strange problem.
I have a project that contain somes videos, all are .ogv (made with vlc converter).
The first time i put the video in the game folder and i make the code using playvideo function, all is all right.
All has been all right for 5 days.
No problem, all videos added during this time are viewable and run fine in game.
Today i make modification of the game, adding new sprite, views, dialog, and coding to use this new element, but without any action on the videos, or playvideo function.
Now when you play the game and make the trigger that activate the video, the game freeze. You are unable to quit the game, or anything else...

When i delete the video from the folder, the game told "unable to find..." what is fine. But when i add them again, they still to no work...
The video work fine in vlc so they aren't corrupted...

Is there a way to solve this problem ?

Thanks in advance.

First, try rebuilding all files (from the menu). ogv videos are built into the exe, so I assume something went wrong there.

Thansk for the answer.
I have try done that before my message.

Since i have cute AGS, delete all ogv.
I have put one new ogv (save on hdd before put on game folder, that run fine. Since i put back the old one, and it seems it work again, i have not make verification on all but have test 7 of them and all work...very strange ...
The rebuilding doesnt make anything, but the new video seems to have unlock the problem...

Is someone else got the same problem ?

I had similar problems... it was when I had inadvertently added a 'Display' statement into a 'Room Load' function - where the same room was meant to play an OGV Video as well.... the screen went black of course (waiting for input to continue)

QuoteWhen i delete the video from the folder, the game told
I have also had similar wrong videos when I (incorrectly) loaded videos into other directories than the working AGS game directory I am using at the time so maybe check that too...

I also get similar weird issues whenever I try to create OGV from some Video tools like OpenShot (neither of the two OGG formats in Openshot EVER work for me once trying to preview in AGS) and also there are only one or two converters online that seem to work and play properly in AGS once they have converted a Video MP4 to OGV.

I suggest you SEARCH or all copies of the Video and probably RENAME it in your game when it tries to load/play and put the absolute latest copy into your AGS directory so it can't be trying to use something else....
Cheers
If it’s not broken, let’s fix it till it is...!
