I'm a newbie and i wanted to ask how to use verbs like lucasarts games in my game instead of icons like sierra used.

When you make your GUI, instead of using button graphics with picture icons, use ones with words. Or, don't use graphics at all and just set the Button Text to the 'verb' you want. If you need help with GUIs in general, try the BFAQ, the Manual and a forum search.
